702: HW - Start working on journal entry #3

Work on getting images and pictures. Work on journal entry #3 tonight. We will start putting the presentation together on Friday as a GROUP. Bring in markers, oak tag (large), and glue on Friday.

Checklist for Group Presentation
1) At LEAST 6 images that connect to your historical person and topic (1 per topic, example, a portrait of Hernan Cortes for ‘Who’)
2) DETAILED explanations/captions/descriptions that go with images AND topics. (Large index cards will be given out to you for this). Use questions for each topic.
3) Each member’s contribution in speaking, brainstorming, and research.
4) Headline or Title at top
You must make sure that your presentation meets all the criteria.

Journal Entry #3
Task: You are sitting down with the explorer himself. (Make up a situation. You might still be on the ship). He is explaining to you WHY he is leading this particular voyage. Be sure to mention the explorer’s reasons and not just the country’s reasons (the one that he is sponsored by). If you are the explorer himself, then imagine that you are having a conversation with a crew member and are reflecting on your own reasons.
